So this year has been pretty silly when it comes to learning 3D. When I was in college I fucking hated 3D because we had to take a pointless class on it and it was absolutely terrible. Also we had to use 3DS Max for it and I hate that program so I never wanted to touch 3D ever again.
Within the last couple years or so though I became super enamoured with low poly anime graphics aesthetic that I’ve been seeing in some games (particularly mobile) and remnants of my past playing cutesy Korean MMOs until it was 7am. so i dont know what sparked it but I started to learn 3D at the beginning of this year, with blender.
It didn’t go well because I just watched some youtube videos and it was really unstructured. I never learned the absolute blender basics so everything I did sucked. I did make a couple things I liked but my goal was to make a character, which I did, but when it came to rigging/animating it all fell apart.
I stopped for a while and when I saw there was a sale going on at a class site called Udemy I bought a ton of blender classes and started learning the basics from there. It’s been my journey since September so far and I learned a lot of stuff. it’s as if I went to college to learn this, except the college didn’t cost $50,000 for a useless piece of paper and put me in crippling debt that has affected my financial purchases for the past six years.
Here are some stuffs I’ve made with blender this year.
